Spontaneous Anniversary Getaway

We just celebrated our 3rd anniversary! Originally we were thinking of maybe getting an AirBnB for a little getaway celebration. But then we drove through the beautiful Mohican State Park area one day and got a wild hair to do a last minute camping trip there instead. (We hadn't been camping yet this year and that's just not a true summer in my book!) We saw a few gorgeous warm days in the forecast. So I booked a cabin and we packed up!

We sat in the sun and read books, cozied up by the campfire, and spent time outside hiking. We spent very little time on our phones. BEST THING EVER. It was the middle of the week and late in the season, so the campground was pretty empty, which was awesome! We had the pool and spa to ourselves. K loved the swing set. We spent a few days enjoying the quality time and time outside in nature.

On the way home, we stopped at the Loudonville street fair and K got to experience her first carousel ride. She loved it at first but then the kids started screaming around her and she got a little terrified and wanted Mama. I'll spare you the sad photos. All in all, it was a nice getaway. Time spent outdoors, face to face communication, and phone vacations are still the BEST.
